Much like the boy who cried wolf, Brett Favre continues to retire again and again. This time, the Hall of Fame quarterback
says that his recently repaired ankle isn't responding well after surgery. Those who are hoping the quarterback will
return still have until August 12th, when Packers camp officially ends, or maybe he will announce a comeback
just before the beginning of the regular season.
Last season, Favre had one of this best seasons, with a completion percentage (68.4%), quarterback rating (107.2), fewest interceptions (7),
and 33 touchdowns. In addition, after winning the NFC North title, the quarterback was one game away from the Superbowl.
Many people are offended by Favre's retirement announcement, but the man is old and probably doesn't know if his body can
handle another season. I, for one, hope he returns to show us why, even at 40, he is better
than the majority of quarterbacks in the NFL. I know money isn't an issue with Favre, but if he does return, he will pocket another $13 million.
