Pearl Jam to Take Lengthy Hiatus
Pearl Jam vocalist Eddie Vedder told a Portugal crowd that the band will be taking a break. The singer read from
a sheet of paper (in Portuguese) "Thank you for coming to our last show. Not our
last ever, but our last in a long time."
The concert marked the end of a string of European dates for the band, preceded by a North American tour promoting their
latest album, "Backspacer".
During the hiatus, Pearl Jam drummer and original Soundgarden member, Matt Cameron, will rejoin the latter for a series of
reunion dates. Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard will once again hook up with his side project, Brad, to release their
new effort on August 10th.
