Rangers Stun Yankees With 10th Inning Win
The Texas Rangers exercised some playoff demons last night at the Ballpark in Arlington as David Murphy lined a walk-off single into right field off perhaps the best closer of all time, New York's Mariano Rivera. Michael Young scored on the hit to give Texas a 4-3 win in the bottom of the tenth inning in a matchup of division leaders. Rivera was handed just his second loss on the season, while Ranger 20 year-old closer Neftali Feliz picked up his second win of the season. The game was a potential playoff preview and should give the Rangers confidence down the stretch and into the playoffs. Texas has only made the playoffs twice in their history and were eliminated both times by the Yankees. The two teams will meet again tomorrow with Rangers ace Cliff Lee facing Javier Vasquez.
